Alpha XM

The award winning, Alpha 1550XM – which completes the Alpha X Series – has the capability for full C-axis milling as well as high-precision turning.

The XM incorporates all the advanced features of the Alpha XS Series (including its Fanuc control and software), and is a highly versatile and cost effective machine for a wide range of advanced machining applications with full contouring capability.  Driven tooling is available through the capto toolpost or duplomatic driven tool turret in the tool-room.

The Alpha 1550XM utilizes a standard headstock and newly-developed servo-driven worm and wheel drive. Engagement of the worm and wheel drive to establish C-axis control is achieved via an electrically-driven actuator.

This versatility of this innovative turning and milling machine in the Colchester-Harrison range provides an important extra technical and commercial opportunity, especially for customers who have previously invested in separate lathes and milling machines.
