Alpha 1550XM
The remarkable, award winning Alpha 1550XM from Colchester-Harrison has the capability for milling as well as turning. The XM is the first machine of its kind, and is designed by the British-based, market-leading machine tool specialists.
The new 1550XM combines all the advanced features of the Alpha X Series, with a full C-axis milling capability. This new innovation introduces an important extra dimension, especially for customers who have previously invested in separate lathes and milling machines
The result is important cost-saving potential in terms of time, set-up and operating speed, extra in-house machining capability, space-saving and so on. It can undoubtedly also open up new markets and customer-bases for some tool-rooms.
The Alpha 1550XM has the same technical specification as its sister Alpha 1550XS model (choice of 2m or 3m distance between centres, 554mm swing over bed, 104mm spindle bore and 11kW (15hp) main motor).
It also has a choice of driven tooling systems, namely a quick-change, modular Capto 3-way tool-post, or a Duplomatic 360mm diameter driven tool turret with 4 driven and four fixed tool stations.
