Tornado T8M
The Tornado T8M extends the versatility of the Tornado T8 lathe into a three-axis configuration. It has a 510mm swing over bed, 66mm bar capacity (T8MB 82.5mm) and maximum turned length of 490mm and maximum turned diameter of 290mm.
All Tornado M turning centres feature full C-axis capability combined with spindle disc brake and a 12-station turret with six driven tools. These features make radial and axial milling, drilling, boring and tapping simplicity itself.
The Tornado T8 also includes Colchester-Harrison’s COLCAM CAD/CAM software, which has been developed to reduce programming times on all Tornado machines.
Once again, the Tornado T8 is built for optimum accuracy and turning quality thanks to its ‘Duo-Stable’ construction concept. This creates a machine that is not only heavier, but also dramatically more thermally and dynamically stable than traditional cast-iron lathes. It also significantly speeds up the commissioning of the turning centre.
There is a Tornado T8M for every application, with a wide choice of different productivity levels to drive up profits. Over 60 per cent of Tornado lathes are being fitted with a full or partial ‘Lights Out’ package.
